  1. Thanks for this side-by-side shootout video. Karl what are your thoughts for photographers today when it comes to cgi or photography traditionally? Should there be a focus more on learning the software or sticking to traditional photography?

    1. Hi, it’s a good question but before I answer this keep this very important point in mind and ask yourself why? On our platform we have and have had some very highly skilled CGI artists here to learn lighting, real world lighting in a studio. Why? Because lighting is key to everything, even if you become an expert in 3d software it is useless if you don’t know how to light, and that’s just for still images in 3d. After that you need to understand motion so understanding filmaking and the terminology is also crucial for 3d animation. So learning the software is crucial to the future but without the fundamental knowledge of lighting that we teach here it’s then it would be futile. Photography and filmmaking isn’t going anywhere just yet but it will become more merged with CGI, Ai and filmmaking going forwards.

I love these vs. videos so much. It never ceases to amaze me how knowledge of light can be harnessed to such precise levels. Bravo to the both of you! I’d love to see an updated shot to match Ethan’s improved one 😉 haha

  3. No vídeo não tem opção de colocar as legendas em português, conseguem arranjar isso por favor ?!
