Flat Colour

Flat Colour.
Creating ‘flat’ colour might sound like the simplest of techniques? Surely we can just choose a tube of acrylic and spread it onto the canvas with a brush and that becomes that flat colour? It’s a nice idea but it’s a little more involved. Just as with our layering examples earlier you would have come to realise that the thickness of paint on the base surface has an impact on it’s luminosity and it’s saturation level.

Learning the technique to maintain a ‘flat colour’ is super important in our journey into art and again Tim will demonstrate and explain this topic very clearly so that you can use it time and time again.
