Photo Critique: Landscapes 1

In the first of this two-part live critique show, Karl looks at landscape images submitted by members.

He highlights what makes a successful landscape image, shares useful tips to improve your landscape photography and demonstrates effective post-production techniques to enhance your images.

    I have to apologize for the photo that I submitted. I totally misunderstood what you wanted. This was the first critique that I’ve ever entered. And I thought you wanted the photos unretouched. I read the description of the show and I should known better. I’ve since gone on to retouch the photo but I can’t recreate what I saw when I took the photo. To my eyes it was a beautiful scene when I took the picture and the reflections were beautiful but that didn’t come across in the photo. I’ll continue to work on it. I did learn something though.

    1. Hi Rich, we usually send out an email to our members inviting them to submit images for critiques, this particular one is closed already for new submissions as we still have lots to get through in Part 2, but keep an eye on the live shows schedule for future ones.

  5. Wasn’t able to watch live, busy with work. thanks for the feed back- as soon as u cropped the beam i really see it improve a basic shot of the walkway and lagoon in a city.

  13. Thank you Karl for your critique of my photo. I was not able to watch live to be able to thank you. I agree with your critique. It does need something else. These critiques are crucial for us all to improve our work and are greatly appreciated. I have not done much landscape in the last couple of years and that photo was a few years ago. That being said, I look forward to doing more this year and the knowledge provided by KTE gives me the confidence to up my level of landscape photography.
