Hi. Don’t know if it’s too late to ask a question post-show. But if not, what do you think about the Sony A7RV for product photography? Is it potable enough for most shoots, even high-end ? Thanks. And yes, technical, equipment and how-to’s are always a great addition.. 😉

    Hi,
Thanks for the Q+A show. Very helpful.

About the picolight and projection accessories: Broncolor supplied four inserts with my picolight at the time. One of these inserts is a gobo holder. You need a picture? Broncolor used to produce gobos suitable for this size, but unfortunately no longer does so. I made them myself and also had them cut by a goldsmith. There are also reasonably suitable gobos available from third-party suppliers such as Rosco. The use of gobos with the picolight is limited because the amount of light required is less.

    1. Hi, thanks for the extra info – I’ll ask bron if they can send me some to test, I’d like to compare them to what I use in the Pulso Spot 4.

  3. Hey Karl, do you have any tutorials on how to get a product lined up to get straight edges? Or would you be able to demo this on your live demo.

I’m finding I’m having to use edge guides in Lightroom to transform the perspective of bottles in post. Do you have any recommendations on how to best get things lined up without distorting the image too much?

    Much appreciated!

  4. Hi Karl,
One more question for the Q&A workshop; I have a small space to work in, 3 x 3 meters approx; what power flash lights would you recommend for product, food and occasional portrait photography?
thanks and sorry to bombard you!
    Carol

  5. Hi Karl,
In one of your classes, you use a boom arm to point a large softbox straight down to the floor. From that boom arm position (horizontal to the floor), I want to point the softbox towards the subject. Whenever I try to do this with a large softbox, it pitches forward and turns towards the floor no matter how hard I turn the screws on the boom arm. What am I doing wrong? (I use a Manfrotto mini boom arm).
    Many thanks in advance
    Barbara

      1. Hi Karl,
Many thanks for your demonstration, that was enlightening 🙂
I had a quick search online for flat-sided baby pins and wasn‘t successful. Which brand do you use?
        Thanks again
        Barbara

  6. Hi Karl,
    2 questions:
    1. For food photography, would you recommend using flash or continuous light? I know for movement one needs flash, but other than that? Quality wise do you think it will make a difference? is there something else I should consider?
    2. I have a couple of old elinchromes (500 W with the cable), and need to purchase one or 2 more flash lights. do you perhaps know whether the old lights and the new ones will sync?
    Thank you,
    Carol

  7. What is the best way to create different color backgrounds for product photograph using lights and diffusion material with or without gradient

    1. Hi, have you seen some of our ‘backgrounds’ classes and also some of our product classes? Please use the search bar at the top of the website and search ‘backgrounds’
