Racing Porsche CGI (Part 4)

Applying Textures and Building Shaders in Blender – Want your Substance Painter textures to look right in Blender? Now it’s time to build your material setup.

In this chapter of our CG Car Image Creation course, you’ll bring your exported textures back into Blender and connect them properly inside your material shaders. You’ll learn how to plug in roughness and normal maps and check your results in rendered view.

You’ll also explore building more complex materials, including combining shader elements and working with a carbon-fiber setup for added realism.

By the end of this class, you’ll understand how to create functional, realistic shaders using your texture maps.

In this class:

  • Importing textures into Blender

  • Connecting roughness maps

  • Setting up normal map nodes

  • Checking materials in rendered view

  • Building complex shader networks

  • Using carbon-fiber materials

  • Combining shader components
