We often think of a history lesson as something quite boring and mundane, so don’t worry we’ll keep this relatively brief! With art it’s really important to understand where we’ve come from and the styles of art and the masters that came before us.

Knowledge of our past helps build a much better picture of what the future holds and how different genres evolved. It also helps us understand the methods of painting used over time, some of which are just as pertinent today as they were centuries ago.
