Wacom Intuos Pro Medium and Small Tablets Compared
I’ve just purchased both the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium tablet and the smaller Wacom Intuos Pro Small tablet. Why both? Well, watch the video.
I compare these new tablets against each other but also measure them against my older Wacom Intuos tablet. I discuss why pen and touch tablets are extremely important retouching tools for photographers (rather than simply using a mouse or iPad app).
I give you my main reason for upgrading, a rundown of the current Wacom Tablet prices and I also explain how single or double screen monitor setups work with the two models.
Why didn’t I go large and opt for the Wacom Intuos Pro Large?

Hello from Switzerland,
I am currently using a:
15” MacBook pro that I bought in 2016
2,7 GHz Intel Core i7 Quad core
16 Go 2133 MHz
Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 Mo
My internal hard drive is a 500 Go HD with 210Go still available. I also have 2 external SSD G-Drive 1To thunderbolt drives as well.
I feel when using Lightroom or Photoshop that it is a bit laggy which is really frustrating and the further I go into editing my photo and the more it lags so I have a couple of questions.
1) If I was to purchase something exclusively for my photography editing what would you suggest ? New MacBook Pro with specific requirements and a Wacom tablet connected to a good monitor ? Or another solution ?
2) Or could I install photoshop and Lightroom on my external ssd G-drives and run the editing files directly from there as well or should I have my photoshop and light room installed on my HD internal drive and run the editing files from my SSD external drive ?
3) In the meantime on my MacBook Pro should I use Lightroom classic or light room ?
Thank you for taking the time in answering all of my newbie questions: )
Have a great day Karl,
Hi, it sounds like that computer should be just fine. I would recommend all your software stays on the computer and you just use your external drives for working files and backups of those working files. You may need to get your MacBook looked at or cleaned up, the drive may be fragmented and increasing to 32gb of RAM will help. I also prefer LR Classic but that’s just as I’m use to it.
