Hi Karl, I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t seem to find a diffusion paper roll in my country, all I can find is tracing paper roll that’s about 1.1m wide, will that do a good enough job? Of course, I’m not shooting for big companies like coca cola or something, my target group are smaller brands and pack shots.
So, TLDR – Will tracing paper be good enough as a diffusor?
Hi, yes we used to use tracing paper before the LEE 216, if the diffusion isn’t effective enough (the gradation) then you can double layer it.
Hi Karl,
Once again a very comprehensive and clear session!
I wonder if there is an alternative to lighting the bottom of the bottle.
Would a silver card work, or would it require to make an extra image and work it in post?
Thanks!
Hi, I don’t think a silver card would be able to reflect enough light so if you didn’t have another light to light the bottom of the bottle at the same time then you would need to shoot it as as a separate shot and then comp them together.
Can you send me the link to the lesson ‘’angle of incident or angle of reflectance ‘’?
Hi, it’s in this section https://visualeducation.com/section/lighting-theory-and-equipment/ and you’ll find many of the other ones such as Inverse Square Law also useful to your knowledge.
Hello Karl,
thanks a lot for superb classes! Incredibly helpful and instructive
Could you please comment if there is a possibility to get rid of the weak rimlight on the very edge of the bottle which it recieves from the white background? Pushing the side screens backwards to get some protection from this light pollution did not seem to help me.
Stassy
Hi, have you tried to add some black card flags behind the bottle to block the light from hitting the edges?
Hello, I am very happy to have access to such good quality lectures. I hope to add Korean subtitles in the future.
