Black & White Flowers

Flowers are the theme for this week’s challenge, but not just any flowers — specifically, black and white flowers. This challenge will not only test your photographic skills, but also your post-production skills.

While flowers may not be the most difficult of subjects, the more challenging aspect this week may  be the post-production element, as creating eye-catching black and white imagery isn’t always as easy as it may sound. All too often, converting images to black and white can result in flat, boring photographs. To help you with this, you’ll find some suggested classes below to help you get the best results possible.

  1. Ashleigh,

I am new to KTE. What is the end result of the challenge? Will there be some discussion of the images by Karl and if so where do we see that? Or are the images just for us to enjoy? So many beautiful ones!

I’m having a bit of a hard time actually using Facebook. It is like an a whole new OS, (operating system). I wonder if KTE could give tutorials on the various social websites?

  3. I just joined the group. I am on Facebook but don’t know how to post a picture for the weekly challenge – help please.

  4. Karl,
In my case I don’t use facebook, I only use instagram. There is a group on Instagram where these photos can be uploaded.

The challenge seems interesting to me.

    Greetings,
