Brief

For this brief, the head of marketing for a black stout brand will act as your art director. They are seeking a photographer to create a strong, impactful image of a single glass of stout, intended to serve as the hero shot for an upcoming advertising campaign.

To guide you, they've provided a sketch to illustrate the desired composition and a Pinterest board showcasing the 'feel' they are aiming for. The Pinterest board references capture the overall mood they are aiming for, the art director emphasizes that the final image doesn't need to replicate them exactly but should evoke a similar vibe and atmosphere. The art director will explain this further during the launch show (so we suggest giving it a watch).

Subject

You may use any brand of black stout such as Guinness, it must be contained in an appropriate glass, ideally with a brand logo if possible for extra impact.

Styling, Props and Background

The photographer has the creative freedom to choose the lighting that best suits the shot, but the art director has specified a few key details. The image should feature a black background with a subtle grey glow emanating from the bottom of the frame, behind the glass. The lighting/product should feel luxurious and desirable.

The stout should be styled with the perfect froth and an appropriate level of condensation on the glass to enhance the visual impact, without obscuring the logo or the signature stout bubble formation in the top half of the glass.
