Terms and Conditions
Itinerary Flexibility:
Due to the event of the workshop and the unpredictability associated with working with animals “A Visual Journey” workshop requires flexibility and must allow for alternatives. For this reason, the workshop description must be taken as an indication of what may take place, and not as a contractual obligation. We reserve the right to change our arrangements should conditions necessitate, or to cancel any aspect of the workshop due to exceptional circumstances. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Travel Insurance:
We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance for your workshop and travel expenses.
We suggest a plan which offers coverage for medical and dental emergencies, lost baggage, missed connections, and trip cancellation should you have a medical problem that prevents you from attending. Karl Taylor Photography and Tim Flach is not responsible for cancellations due to medical emergencies or for reimbursement of non-refundable airline tickets in the event of a workshop cancellation.
Documentation and Visas:
Participants are responsible for obtaining any documents required for their participation in the workshop such as a valid passport, all visas and any other documents.
Registration and Payments:
Workshop registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. All prices are quoted in Pounds (£). All fees stated are for workshop tuition only and do not include airfares and transportation other than that specified. Any additional accommodation, over and above the duration of the workshop, will be at the participant’s own expense.
A deposit of £390 is required to reserve a position in the workshop and the outstanding fee is to be paid upon presentation of the invoice. All fees must be paid in full within seven (7) working days to confirm your place in the workshop. Once payment has been received, you will be sent email confirmation of receipt of your payment.
Cancellations and Refunds:
Cancellation by participants must be made in writing and acknowledged by Karl Taylor Photography. If you cancel your paid booking prior to eight (8) weeks of the workshop date, the workshop fee will be refunded less 25% of the fee. No refund is available if you cancel within eight (8) weeks of the workshop date. Deposits paid to secure bookings are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us.
Karl Taylor and Tim Flach are not responsible for any other costs which workshop participants may have incurred including but not limited to travel, car rental, insurance, photographic purchases and/or rentals. Any airline tickets issued are subject to the carrier’s refund policy. Travel insurance is advised to cover for any loss or damage due to delay, cancellation or disruption in any manner caused by the laws, regulations, acts or failures to act, demands, orders, or interpositions of any government or any subdivision or agent thereof, or by acts of God, strikes, fire, flood, war, rebellion, terrorism, insurrection, sickness, quarantine, epidemics, theft, or any other cause(s) beyond their control.
Leaving a workshop in progress, for any reason whatsoever, will not result in a refund, and no refunds will be made for any unused portions of a workshop.
We are not responsible for any refund for any additional expenses including but not limited to airline tickets, hotel accommodation or transport purchased by the participant.
In the event of Tim Flach being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond our control, the workshop will continue with Karl Taylor as the sole tutor and a limited refund may be applicable. Should Karl Taylor be unable to attend, a full refund of the workshop price, excluding accommodation and food costs, will be provided. Any additional expenses incurred by the participant over and above the workshop fee will be at their own expense.
Limit of Liability:
Whilst every care is taken to ensure your safety and enjoyment, our workshops adhere to the highest safety considerations, Karl Taylor Photography accept no liability for death, illness or injury or loss or damage to photo equipment or personal belongings during the course of the workshop or in transit thereto.
By joining any workshops offered by Karl Taylor Photography, participants acknowledge that they are aware of risks and are physically capable of safely taking part in the workshop. Further, they release Karl Taylor Photography, Tim Flach, workshop assistants and models from any liability. Karl Taylor Photography, Tim Flach, workshop assistants and models will assume no liability for injury, illness or loss of personal property or expenses associated with participation in a workshop. The participant waives any claim against workshop organisers for any such loss, damage, injury, or death.
Karl Taylor Photography shall not be liable for any air carrier’s cancellation penalty incurred by the purchase of a non-refundable ticket to or from the “A Visual Journey” workshop. It is the sole responsibility of the participants to organise their own transportation to and from the meeting point as described in the workshop itinerary, e.g. airport, hotel, and to ensure timely arrival. In the event of late arrival it is the responsibility of the participant to join the workshop, and to carry all associated expenses. Karl Taylor Photography is not liable if the participant misses any portion of, or the entire workshop as a result of the delay. We strongly advise that participants make arrangements to arrive, at the very least, the day before the workshop commences. This will also give you more time to enjoy everything the island of Guernsey has to offer.
Health Requirements:
Our facilities are fully equipped with disabled access and toilets. However, by registering for “A Visual Journey” workshop, the participant certifies that he/she does not have any condition that would create a hazard for him/herself or other participants or the animals included in the workshop. We reserve the right to accept, decline or remove any participant if it is deemed necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of participants.
Equipment:
Participants may, but are not obliged to, bring their own equipment such as cameras, lenses laptops, etc.. Baggage and personal effects are at all times the responsibility of the participant.
Special Requests:
If you have special dietary requests you should inform us of these at the time of booking. We will advise the relevant supplier of your requirements. We will do our best to notify relevant parties concerned but cannot accept responsibility for any food or beverages provided by third parties.
Should participants wish to bring family or friends we will endeavour to organise accommodation but any additional costs arising from the inclusion of any extra person(s) will be at the participants own expense.
Your Agreement to this Contract:
By making the deposit payment, the participant agrees to the terms and conditions and the responsibility statements herein on behalf of all the individuals included in the booking.
