Working to a Brief 16 LAUNCH
Watch the LIVE brief launch to get all the details you need.
Brief
For this brief we are focusing on fresh, healthy and enticing tomato produce. The shot required has a more open brief this time but we have created a mood board on Pinterest of the 'feeling' we are looking for in the image.
If you think organic, bright, fresh, healthy lifestyle, zesty, sweet, Mediterranean style images you'll be on the right track!
Subject
The image must include tomatoes still attached to a vine, with at least one detached and at least one tomato sliced open revealing a beautiful cut and shape to the internal dynamics of the tomato.
Background
A relatively neutral background is required for this shot. This could be plain stone, wood, or chopping boards, but nothing to intricate or dark in tone.
The purpose of the background is to provide a supporting cast to the heroes which are the tomatoes and should therefore not distract or overwhelm our key product.
Styling and Props
The image should feature several scattered large salt crystals to invoke a feeling of preparation as well as a small clear glass of olive oil that should look bright, lively and inviting.
There should be NO cutlery or napkins in the shot at all, but it is permitted to make use of layers of wood/chopping boards, or even a plain bowl if necessary as long as it meets the overall brief.
Crop
The final photograph should be vertical and rectangular, approximately magazine format suitable for a full page image.
There is no need for large negative space , the image should be composed to provide the best composition for the contents of the image only.
Angle of View
The image must NOT be flat lay or straight top down view. The image is best suited to a top 45 degree or lower than 45 degree angle of view.
Depth of Field
Depth of field should provide enough detail across the image that the majority of its contents are legible but are not required to be pin sharp from back to front. Very shallow depth of field images are NOT what we are looking for.
